Can I substitute Splenda for confectioners' sugar in recipes?

What other substitutes would be acceptable? Can I substitute Splenda for confectioners' sugar in recipes?
only if you want to give diarrhea.to half your friendsCan I substitute Splenda for confectioners' sugar in recipes?
I wouldn't use it to replace confectioner's sugar- Confectioner's sugar is ground much finer than regular sugar (or Splenda), and also contains some cornstarch. Usually when it's called for, rather than sugar, it's for a reason (texture, thickening, %26amp;c). You can, in general replace regular sugar with Splenda, but I'd be nervous, not about flavor, but about the baked good turning out correctly, if you use it instead of confectioner's sugar.
You can, But it won't be powdery and Powdered sugar is alot heavier than Splenda.
yes it is a sugar substitute, you could use other sugar substitutes but they are not as good as splenda
i say go for it if you like the taste of Splenda

if it tastes bad when you make it you know not to do it again, sometimes with cooking it is either hit or miss
NO ,,Splenda is dangerous.
powdered sugar substitute: Mix 1 cup granulated sugar + 1 tablespoon corn starch in blender until powdery, stirring often.

for diabetics:

2 cups (500 mL) nonfat dry milk powder

2 cups (500 mL) cornstarch

1 cup (250 mL) granulated sugar replacement (equivalent of ';Equal'; packets)

Combine all ingredients in food processor or blender. Whip until well blended and powdered.
splenda is fine
You could probably just use regular sugar. I think.
Yes! Splenda is great and better for you than most sweeteners are. But the best for us perhaps is no sweeteners at all. But things would be really bland
Use sugar.....unless medically needed because you have a sugar intolerance....Sugar might have calories, but for crying out loud its so much better for you than something that is a ';Chemical Concoction';
Confectioner's sugar is a blend of sugar and corn starch. Find out what the ratio is of corn starch to sugar is then make your own low calorie substitute. Good luck!
Yes. Splenda is often used in recipes, such as treats. Most people who have diabetes use splenda as a replacement for sugar. If you are unsure about splenda go to:

thank you for asking!
Splenda and other artifical sweetners are dangerous and not worth the potential risks that are associated with them. A safe and really natural alternative to them if you must not use sugar is Stevia, which can be found at helath food stores and on the internet at places such as

More info on Stevia can be found here, I recommend looking into it for your health's sake.

You can, you just need to grind it up so it's more powdery....you can also do that with regular sugar instead of buying confectioner's.
splenda is a good substitute.
It all depends on what you like. go look up low fat recipes and you will see that the only difference would be substitutes to the original recipe. so I would have to say yes you can. if it is being used on top on a bowl cake or something then it just wont look as nice. the only problem will be that it wont be as thick if mixed in with the recipe. This would only be my opinion. If it makes sense to you. go for it
Definitely, I also like using equal for my baking and you can't taste the difference
